Aerodome

  • Work Policy: Fully remote (HQ in Los Angeles, CA)
  • Company Size: 10-25
  • Year Founded: 2023
  • Funding: Seed, $6.5M

About the company. Aerodome is bringing the future of air support to public safety agencies around the world. Using a fully integrated, automated and AI-driven software operating system, Aerodome equips agencies with highly advanced, 24/7 drone-as-first-response capabilities.

This means police and fire departments can automatically fly a drone to an emergency incident located anywhere in their city in less than 3 minutes, every time. State and Federal agencies can use Aerodome stations to immediately detect wildfires as soon as they start, helping prevent them from escalating into the devastating tragedies we’ve seen over the years.

What are they building?

The team at Aerodome is on a mission to reinvent drones as first responders.

Here’s how their product works:

  • Automatic response to 911 calls. The Aerodome system determines if a 911 call warrants a drone response and sends a drone to the location in less than 3 minutes.
  • Fully remote flight operations. The drone can be deployed from a remote location. Pilots use a combination of optical zoom, thermal, night vision, and augmented reality to provide air support for first responders on the ground.
  • Beyond visual line of sight. The Aerodome system uses ground-based radar, radio frequency sensors, ADS-B and remote ID data, allowing drone pilots to fly beyond the visual line of sight without the need for visual observers.
  • Live video for emergency personnel. Streaming video can be broadcasted live to emergency personnel, allowing for multiple stakeholders to maintain tactical awareness.
  • Automated drone swapping. Drones can be replaced by another drone automatically when battery life runs low. When a flight mission has concluded, the drone can come back to land on a docking station that will ready the drone for its next mission.
